After the tastings, visitors can sit overlooking the vines to take in the atmosphere with a view over the lush Burgoyne Valley. noon – five pm in the summer
- Kutatás Wines – a majority of their small production comes from 3 acres of Pinot Noir and Ortega in North Saanich. Kutatás (Koo-Tah-Tash) is a Hungarian term for research, inquisition, exploration or quest. Winemakers Mira Tusz and Daniel Dragert found this term inspiring; it relates their venture to a shared Hungarian heritage, it describes their approach to winemaking, and it represents the long journey ahead. Dan has been the winemaker at Averill Creek for years and we are excited to work with him and Mira as they begin their own wine producing journey. Mira and Dan have just recently purchased Mistaken Identity on Salt Spring Island. Currently, a majority of their small production comes from 3 acres of Pinot Noir and Ortega in North Saanich, on Vancouver Island. These blocks are managed sustainably. Most of the vineyard is dry farmed to limit yields, restrict berry size and express terroir. They personally hand tend the vineyard to ensure they achieve the highest possible quality.

From deep in our mountain spring comes the cleanest, freshest water for our beers. Piped straight from the spring into the brew house, this gorgeous water is combined with organic Canadian two row pale malt and other natural ingredients to create a lineup of distinctly Island-made beers. Whenever possible, we source local ingredients such as island grown hops, honey and heather. Our highly flavourful beers pair wonderfully with good food and are the perfect accompaniment to any occasion. We donate our spent grain to neighbouring farms for animal feed. These farms stock their roadside stands with non-GMO organic meat that can be found on and at the base of Furness Road. Other brewery wastes, such as spent hops and wastewater, is given to local farmers as compost and/or natural fertilizer. we source local ingredients such as island grown hops such as spent hops and wastewater

- Salt Spring Vineyards & Tasting Room – Salt Spring Vineyards wines are completely handcrafted by Salt Spring residents, from pruning of the vines, selecting the choicest grapes, winemaking, to applying the labels on the bottles. We are convinced that small-scale production, with human nurturing of the wine at each step of the winemaking process, produces a most inspired result. We hope you agree. Our estate wines tend to be dry and crisp, and we are honored to pair them with Salt Spring Cheeses, produced on Salt Spring Island.
- Salt Spring Wild Cider House – Making cider on Salt Spring using apples that are literally rooted in the islands history is such a natural continuum of island life. Shaking fruit from these old gnarled trees that tell us stories of the islands history and then sharing that story in each bottle- that’s what we do. Visit us at our cider house and restaurant to try a tasting, share a bottle, or sit down for a full lunch and dinner (indoor and outdoor seating).
- The Local Pub – The local watering hole is a perfect place to celebrate an occasion, drown your sorrows, or just watch a game on Sunday afternoon. Step outside to a waterfront patio all in the heart of Ganges and join the locals after work to gather for a drink and socialize. Let’s raise a glass in appreciation for a friendly neighborhood Dive Bar!
- Vivezza Vineyard – Building on decades of winemaking and viticulture experience in the BC coastal climate, our dream has now been realized with the opening of Vivezza Vineyard – a family owned and operated Salt Spring Island boutique winery and vineyard.
We believe in an intimate relationship between ourselves, the land and the vines. Exceptional wines come from this connection. We’ve dedicated over 20 years to researching new disease-resistant grape varieties, learning the nuances of each and selecting the best to create our signature Modern Series. Balancing tradition and innovation, we’ve crafted our first small batch selections of dry white and red wines – made from both our modern varieties and traditional vinifera, and sourced from the fruit of our own vineyards and other vineyards on the islands. We look forward to offering an expanding selection in the coming vintages.
